BeSparkly Sayonara

Ah, I don’t know what to say.  I’m leaving Tokyo in the morning and I feel like I just got here.  It’s nice not having to work for a week.  Next time I come, I hope it’s on BeSparkly business.  Or I’ll take another fun concert and vacation if that happens first, I’m not picky.

The trip has been awesome, I will definitely miss Tokyo.  This time, I was able to do more of what I wanted and enjoyed myself more than last time, though last time was fun too.  Hopefully trip #3 to Tokyo will be within the year.

K’s Ark

♪ I just got back from Kimeru’s concert! ♪ It was really fun.  He has more energy than anyone I’ve ever seen before which is good because I tend to be more low energy and it’s nice to see people brimming with vitality and happiness.  Tanoshikatta desu.

I guess that’s the one thing I really noticed about him, he seemed genuinely happy to be giving a concert.  Sugoi, Kime~chan.  He’s really quite amusing and funny.

I also had the pleasure of visiting Gain, a shop in Shibuya where Nagayama Takashi has a line of clothing.  The owner was super nice to me and I’m glad I got a chance to buy something Blossam (Nagayama’s brand).  I’ll post pictures when I get home.  Check out Gain for yourself.

Kimeru and Gain made traveling half-way around the world an adventure worth repeating.  Arigatou~

Umbrella Stands

So it has been raining all day in Tokyo and they have this strange little thing they do… nearly everyone has a long umbrella, not the little compact ones Americans tend to fancy, and when people go into a store or a restaurant or even the arcade (which I blew 900 yen [about $8.25] on trying to win a stuffed dumpling plushie) the store has a little rack where you can swipe your umbrella through this device that sheaths it in plastic so that when you go in the store, you do not drip water.

How fascinating.
kasa thingy

But the downside is, (which my environmental scientist friend will grumble about) is that each time you leave a store, you throw away the plastic bag around your umbrella and get a new one at the next place.  I must have thrown 7 or 8 away myself.

Anyway, jet lag has taken control of me and I must nap before a night out on the town.

今晩は東京

今晩は東京 =  Konbanwa Tokyo! (Good evening Tokyo)

I have arrived at my hotel and am going to sleep even though I desperately want to go have fun!!  But I am so tired because it took 21 hours door to door and I am so delirious that I am sure that calculation is wrong and that it took way longer.

明日は東京に行く

Tomorrow I go to Tokyo!  Hooray!! HOORAY!

An exact translation would be something like this; 明日は東京に行く = “as for tomorrow, Tokyo will go.”  In Japanese, there is no reason to say “I” or “me” or “you” if it is already understood who the subject is.

Maybe I’ll post a picture of my suitcase after I get packed… or something else BeSparkly cool. Later on… I decided to post a picture of the best Japanese language book I’ve ever laid my hands on.  It will be my best friend in Japan.

I’ve been to Tokyo once before, so I know my way around enough to manage on the subway and know that there’s enough Wendy’s and McDonalds french fries out there to keep me from dying off (I really don’t like fish and I don’t eat meat or fish anyway).  When I get back, I’ll do some sort of BeSparkly photo page to show my pictures and give you a run down on all the things I did.

I may take a day trip to Mt. Fuji to see it, that would be fun.  I’m already planning on going to the 100% Chocolate Cafe, (thanks to another blogger out there in the ocean of the internet who likes that place) and I plan on going to a comedy club this Friday night.

And of course I will shop for BeSparkly stuff.

bag o’ wonder

I really don’t have anything exciting to talk about today, so I’ll just post a picture of this gift bag that I got with a birthday present that has now become the collector of all BeSparkly receipts.  If I buy something for BeSparkly, I drop the receipt in the bag.  And then… well, that’s it.  It’s pretty simple.  (^_^)v

I even tacked the bag up next to my desk for easy access.

It has dots and, as of two months ago, I love dots.

Business Card

I made my first BeSparkly business card for when I go to Japan!  Since I ran out of color ink in my printer 4 years ago and never bothered to get a new cartridge, it’s a plain business card.  I’ll have real ones made up after I incorporate.

Here’s the top of it in English and Japanese for the Tokyo-ites!

When I get back from Tokyo, getting my graphics program up and running plus incorporating are on my to do list.

V is for Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day!

ハッピーバレンタインデー

I wish I had something exciting planned for BeSparkly for Valentine’s Day, but I don’t.  I woke up this morning and thought, I want Valentine chocolate… but I don’t have anyone to get it for me.   *how sad*   But then, when I went to work, my boss got me a big heart filled with my favorite Dove chocolates!

This picture makes it look small, but it’s bigger than a softball.  Hooray for Valentine’s chocolate!!

Hello Again, Kitty

Well hello again Kitty-chan…

konnichiwa kitty-chan

I’m not a huge Hello Kitty fan, but I do love the sparkly colors and girlie pinks.  A friend got me this for my birthday and I just love how it’s a set of organized notepads.  I love for things to be organized, so if something is organized AND sparkly, I’m in heaven.

On another less sparkly note, my home PC died this weekend along with my Photoshop program.  So until I get a new Photoshop, I can’t make any graphics for the BeSparkly site, though I do plan to continue working on the layout.  But I believe I’ll have a new Adobe Photoshop program for my laptop in a flash, because when you feel sparkly, things just magically happen.
