it’s the little things

Sometimes, it’s the little things that make me feel sparkly.

I bought these felt tip markers by Paper Mate for myself for Christmas. Now one would think that they are simply markers, but for me, I’ve derived great joy from using them since I got them.  I use them to draw smiley faces in my checkbook after I balance it.  Each day I rotate the colors for my To-Do list.  I even use them in my Japanese notebook to color-coordinate verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs.

Who’d have thought that four colored felt tip markers could bring so much joy. They even have two hearts etched into the silver clip. ^^ Thanks Paper Mate for making such fun markers!!

Club Shoes

I found these in the back of my closet… they are my club shoes from college. You know what’s sparkly? That our feet stay the same size once they stop growing!! They still fit and I had a dance party in them in my office.

I am 6′1″ in them.

destroy club shoes

I used to club in Chicago back in the late 90s. I thought I had worn them out, but they are still in great shape. Ah, the memories. I was at Shelter the last night it was open, dancing until they flipped the lights on and bulldozed it down for some condo complex.

Club shoes that still fit after 10 years are sparkly! ^^

Heath Ledger ヒース・レジャー

No, no, no, no, no! Not Heath!
今日はヒース・レジャーが死にました.

Heath Ledger has been one of my favorite actors since “10 Things I Hate About You” came out when I was in college. It is very sad that he has passed away today at such a young age. He starred in many movies, including his Oscar nominated role in “Brokeback Mountain” and as the Joker in the upcoming Batman movie.

As I mentioned in my previous post, each day is an opportunity to share our sparkle. Heath’s sparkle touched many on screen, but each and every one of us have a sparkle that we can share right now with those we love.

going “home”

I am flying back to my hometown, a suburb of Chicago, for the weekend to meet up with some friends and attend a memorial service for a dear friend’s mother who passed away shortly after the new year.

Each moment we have together is truly precious.  Please share your sparkle with those you love.  ^^

January ‘08 Updates

If you wonder what I do all day… here it is.

UPDATES: I’ve been working on getting my logo polished up and making a Valentine’s Day banner.

Guess who’s going back to Tokyo in March? ^^ EDIT: 3/27/08 = I decided to postpone Tokyo for now because of some other great things going on!!

It was surprisingly warm today, around 70 degrees here. Any heat waves in your neck of the woods?
